Support Letter

Dear family and friends,

I am now entering into my 7th week of my DTS schooling and loving it every day. We have had some amazing teachers while being here. Kevin Stark (leader of impact world tour), Mitch Anderson (leader of YWAM in Chile), Joseph Avakian and many more.  Some of the things that we have been learning about are evangelism, world view of Christianity, hearing Gods voice and growing closer to Him. From these I have discovered so much more myself. My attitude about things has changed so dramatically & it’s very noticeable. I am now seeing the world in a different way than before. I know that Lord has always been there for us even when we didn’t think so, that He has always provided for us even in the littlest ways possible. Its crazy how He knows what is to happen way before we even do, giving us a story to tell in the end of it all. We are to worship Him no matter where we are or what we are doing. When we do the things in life that we really enjoy, like sports, God is pleased!
A few weeks ago my classmates came together and raised the rest of my school fees for me to be able to stay and even some for my outreach to Romania. In probably thirty seconds I went from needing $1100 to getting $2100. The grace of the Lord fell upon me and I just broke down and cried. I think that was the day of major change in my life and I am very grateful that the Lord has opened my eyes and is showing me just how mighty He really is. I still need bout $5000 though for the rest of my outreach fees. This is a key aspect of my DTS. In Romania we will be doing a baseball camp for the children there, which is very exciting for me because I have played baseball all my life. I was even thinking before coming here about coaching a team and how fun it would be. This might be the door the Lord wants to open towards my future. If you feel led to give towards what I am doing or just want to hear more stories of what the Lord is doing in my life you can check out my blog at typhillips.blogspot.com or give to my PayPal @ thegrove12@yahoo.com
Thank you for all your prayers & support. Please continue to pray for me & my team, that the Lord will open the right doors for us & keep working in each of our lives. I am so grateful that the Lord has given me this opportunity.

                Be blessed,

MAY 2nd

well today has just been a wonderful day. started my fast and this is the first time ive done a fast, its hard im gonna admit but everytime i get hungry i jst ask for the lord to give me the strength to get over it and it works. i went to the prayer room today and was receiving words from the lord. wat a breakthrough. i know that even if the money doesnt come through that ill still love the lord and wont get angry with him. this has been the best 4 weeks of my life i believe. ive made so many friends and i feel that we are all family thats how close we are. but i know ill be upset if i do have to leave just cuz i wont be able to spend the next 5 months with these awesome people but im putting it all in the lords hands to take care of now. when i decided to do that it was like all the stress i had was lifted and i can just be happy again for these next few days. well im gonna go to the prayer room again to spend time with the creator of this beautiful world we all live in. god bless everyone

my verse for the rest of my life

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" Philippians 4:13

Tuesday, May 1, 2012

Dear friends & family,

Three weeks into my schooling and everything is great. I’m rooming with five other guys that are from all over; one from Australia, Canada, Germany, California, and Oregon. The room can get very interesting at times but we all have a good bond with one another. I’ve made so many new friends it’s incredible. The food isn’t the best but it hits the spot. I’m very spoiled being from the south. My leaders and staff are amazing along with the rest of my class mates. There are thirteen guys and four girl’s ages from 17 to late 20’s.
What’s so great is that we are all here for the same reason, to grow in our relationship with the Lord. I also came to be able to hear from the Lord and have clear direction for my life. It’s a blessing the ways God has been moving within me. He has been giving me visions and words from my other class mates and talked to me just the other day. It blew me out of the water. So incredible to be able to hear what the big man upstairs has to say.
Last week we had found out that the class was going to split into three teams and go do mini outreaches for three weeks before we head to London for the Olympic outreach for 6 weeks. It came down to Dominican Republic, Romania, and staying here in Kona. I decided to choose Romania. We will be doing baseball camps for kids and ministering to them about where we came from and how God has been transforming us. This was really cool to hear because I wanted to either play baseball or help coach a team and I am going to be able to do both at the same time. The only problem is that it is going to cost a pretty penny. I am going to be straight up with everyone, I am going to need $5,000 by this Friday. If I am not able to receive this by then I will be coming home sooner than I thought which I do not want that to happen.
God has really been changing me and sculpting me into a better man and I can already see the difference. I know it seems like a lot…trust me, I know! But my aunt informed me the other day that no one has been sent home early for not being able to pay the fees on time. God has provided in so many ways and I am just trusting him on this one. I think it would be silly sending me out here for three weeks just to send me back home. Over the past few years God has been giving people many words over my life and I believe they are coming true while I am here doing this DTS (disciple training school). So it would be a true blessing to me if you could give. I have a PayPal account and the email is thegrove12@yahoo.com. I really don’t feel like it’s time for me to come home. I love it here and what God is doing in my life.

Sincerely,

 Tyler

My puppies back home

April 30th, 2012

Well I like to say hello to anyone who reads this...if anyone ever does...doubt it though. But I am 18 and in a Christian school in Kona Hawaii called YWAM ( youth with a mission). I'm from Charlotte NC. I miss home so much. bout 2 months before I left to come here we got two black lab puppies. Oakley and Bailey. They are probably the reason i miss home so much, not that i don't miss my family but i felt that at times the puppies loved me more then my family did...I was working at Harper's at South Park and going to CPCC. College just wasnt my thing. I really don't ever want to go back. so i dropped out my second semester and decided to come here and try to get my life straight with the Lord. I love it here and kinda don't want to go back. But I couldn't do that I love my family and friends at home to much... Today we started our fourth week here in class and its been going great. the only problem I have is that I don't have enough money to stay, and if I get  the money by this Friday then ill be going home early.  So this is really just an introduction into what my life is like right now. but like I said i doubt anyone will really this, but if you do awesome, thanks! but yeah I'm go know. God Bless and keep praying for me.
